Laboratory Technician 1

This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Laboratory Technician 1 position for the Food Innovation Center at Oregon State University (OSU).  This position will be located in Portland, Oregon.
The Food Innovation Center at Oregon State University seeks a Laboratory Technician 1 to provide technical support for laboratory research and applied food product development, with emphasis on supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO₂) processing operations and associated laboratory tasks. Under close supervision, the incumbent will support standardized procedures, sample preparation, equipment operation, data recording, and basic laboratory maintenance to enable high-quality, reproducible experimental work. This role supports bench-to-market food innovation across interdisciplinary applied projects.

Student Positions

Sensory Technician at the FIC

This recruitment will be used to fill six part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Technical Assistant positions for the Food Innovation Center in Portland, Oregon, part of Oregon State University (OSU). This is a temporary position for part-time work to assist with conducing large consumer taste tests/sensory evaluation. Tests dates are variable and may be on weekends, but Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 5pm are preferred test days/times.
